Folonari
family that is part of the wine history of Tuscany.
Sons of Brescia entrepreneurs, brothers Italo and Francesco Folonari bought the historic Tuscan winery Ruffino in 1911, known for its distribution in Italy and abroad of Chianti Classico bottled in traditional straw-wrapped bottles. In the early sixties, Nino Folonari, Italo's son, decided to abandon mass production to devote himself to quality production. Nino was the instigator of the purchase of the estates located in Greve
in Chianti: Tenuta del Cabreo and Tenuta di Nozzole. In 2000, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari, Nino's son and grandson respectively, founded the Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari Tenute company, made up of five estates spread across the areas of excellence in Tuscany. In the footsteps of Nino, they are pursuing an important project of revaluation of the territory and its diversity, by investing in the estates and focusing on the production of quality wines, elegant, with character and strongly linked to the terroir.
