Domaine du Mont d'Or
WHAT THE EARTH SAYS, WHAT THE WINE WANTS
Domaine du Mont d'Or, founded in 1848 by François-Eugène Masson, is the oldest vineyard in the Valais. Situated on a 24-hectare site, it comprises 220 terraces supported by dry stone walls, bearing witness to ancestral know-how. In the 1870s, his son Georges Masson introduced Sylvaner to the Valais, giving birth to the famous Johannisberg Mont d'Or.
Committed to environmentally-friendly viticulture, the estate aims to protect the natural site of national importance on which the vineyards are located. The estate's historic cellars combine ancient techniques with modern science to produce top-quality wines that reflect the richness of the terroir and the excellence of local know-how.
