Château de Châtagneréaz

THOUSAND-YEAR-OLD WINE TRADITION

Here, the vine has been mentioned since the year 996. The first remains of the Château date back to 1177. Châtagneréaz is a bit like a Bordeaux Château: renowned wines with a fairly simple architecture. Owned by Maison Schenk, its 14 hectares of vines are among the best exposed on the Côte. The Château's wines are vinified in oak barrels in the Château's magnificent cellar, the ceiling of which is covered with names, initials and dates that have been inscribed with a candle flame by the coopers and winegrowers who, over the ages, have devoted their efforts and care to the sustainability of this estate.
