Château Maison Blanche

LÀ OÙ LES MEMOIRES SE CRÉENT

For over 400 years, Château Maison Blanche has symbolized the Yvorne vineyard with its beauty, its eventful history and its magic.

It all began in 1573 when Sieur Antoine d'Erlach and his brother Borckhardt had a Maison Blanche built away from the small town of Yvorne. A terrible landslide in 1584 forced many people to flee poverty, then in 1609, the Maison Blanche was rehabilitated with reinforced walls and a new roof.

In the 1750s, the residence was acquired by Frédéric Würstenberger, then governor of Aigle, the small neighboring town. The House remained in his family until the end of the 18th century. 100 years later, the Maison Blanche was renamed Château Maison Blanche following the addition of a keep and of a bell tower. In the 1930s, the wine-growing families of Rolle, Schenk and Rosset, bought the Château and devoted it to viticulture.
