Cure d'Attalens

An exceptional winegrowing heritage in the heart of Lavaux

La Cure d'Attalens has a tradition of vine-growing that goes back several centuries. Its history is linked to that of the Obrist company, which acquired the estate in 1896, making it one of the first renowned vineyards of the Vevey-based firm.

Vines have been grown on the shores of Lake Geneva since Roman times. In the twelfth century, monks, with the help of local residents, developed the hillsides to create terraced vineyards. The result of this titanic task is a sumptuous vineyard, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. The Cure d'Attalens vineyard, located in Chardonne, is part of this ancient history, as prestigious as that of Lavaux in general.

Today, the Cure d'Attalens estate covers 15 hectares in the Lavaux appellation. Facing due south, the vines benefit from ideal conditions for growing mainly Chasselas, but also Viognier, planted in 2011. A section of the vineyard is dedicated to red grape varieties such as Gamay, Galotta, Merlot and Diolinoir.
